Apple has published App Store screenshot sizes for the iPhone Duo. There is one size for the outer display and one for the inner display, and neither matches any existing iPhone class. App Store Connect has accepted iPhone Duo uploads since October 5, 2026, and starting April 2027 every app or game submitted needs iPhone Duo screenshots. The file rules are the same as for every other slot: 1 to 10 screenshots in PNG or JPEG, with no alpha channel or transparency.
Uploads Are Open, Required From April 2027 #
App Store Connect opened iPhone Duo uploads on October 5, 2026, and you can now submit apps optimized for the Duo built with Xcode 27.1. Neither Duo size is accepted in any other iPhone class, so these files only go in the iPhone Duo slot.
Starting April 2027, every app or game submitted to the App Store needs iPhone Duo screenshots, even an app you haven't changed for the Duo. Until then they are optional.
The Duo set doesn't replace your required iPhone set. That is one 6.3-inch set at 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556, which App Store Connect now calls iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display). The 6.9-inch set used to be the required one; it is optional now.
iPhone Duo Is Not in the 6.9-inch Class #
Apple lists iPhone Duo as its own entry at the top of the iPhone section, separate from the display classes. It isn't part of the required 6.3-inch class either. The 6.9-inch class covers the iPhone Air, 18 Pro Max, 17 Pro Max, 16 Pro Max, 16 Plus, 15 Pro Max, 15 Plus and 14 Pro Max, and its accepted sizes do not include either iPhone Duo size, so an iPhone Duo screenshot will not fill a 6.9-inch slot.
How the Sizes Relate to the Displays #
Apple's iPhone Duo tech specs list two Super Retina XDR displays:
