iPhone and iPad screenshot sizes get all the attention — but if you ship a watchOS or visionOS app, you face your own set of dimensions, and they're easy to get wrong. Watch screenshots are small, oddly proportioned, and vary by case size; Vision Pro expects a single large landscape canvas that looks nothing like the others.
This is the 2026 reference for Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro App Store screenshot sizes, spun off from our complete screenshot sizes guide for everyone landing here from a watchOS or visionOS project. Official source: Apple's screenshot specifications.
Apple Watch Screenshot Sizes #
App Store Connect accepts watchOS screenshots at the native resolutions of current case sizes:
| Device | Size (pixels) |
|---|---|
| Apple Watch Ultra 2 (49mm) | 410 × 502 |
| Apple Watch Series 10 (46mm) | 416 × 496 |
| Apple Watch Series 9/8 (45mm) | 396 × 484 |
| Apple Watch Series 9/8 (41mm) | 352 × 430 |
| Apple Watch SE (44mm) | 368 × 448 |
| Apple Watch SE (40mm) | 324 × 394 |
All watchOS screenshots are portrait only, and you can provide up to 10 per locale. In practice you don't need every size: provide the largest size you support, and the App Store scales it for smaller case sizes that don't have their own set. Check the size selector in App Store Connect for which slot is marked required for your app's deployment target.
What makes Watch screenshots tricky #
- They're tiny. At ~400 pixels wide, caption text that works on iPhone becomes unreadable. If you overlay text at all, keep it to 2–3 large words.
- The proportions are unusual. Roughly 5:6 — most templates and marketing layouts assume phone aspect ratios and break here.
- No app previews. watchOS doesn't support preview videos (see our app preview specifications guide), so screenshots carry the entire listing.
- Round-rect masking. The watch screen's heavily rounded corners mean critical content near corners can look cramped inside a device frame. Keep the focus centered.
Apple Vision Pro Screenshot Sizes #
visionOS is the opposite problem — one big canvas:
| Type | Size (pixels) |
|---|---|
| Standard | 3840 × 2160 |
Landscape only, 16:9, up to 10 per locale. A few things to know:
- This is a 4K marketing canvas, not a raw capture size. Simulator and device captures need to be composed onto a 3840 × 2160 canvas.
- Show spatial context. The strongest visionOS listings show the app's windows or volumes in an environment, not a flat UI crop — browsers are deciding whether your app feels spatial.
- Text can be generous. At 4K you have room for real captions; the readability constraints of Watch don't apply.
Do You Even Need These? #
Yes — if your app runs there, the listing needs screenshots there:
- watchOS: required if you ship a watch app (including watch companions with their own App Store presence).
- visionOS: required if you build for visionOS natively. iPad apps running in compatibility mode on Vision Pro use your existing iPad screenshots instead.
An incomplete or wrong-sized set is one of the most common last-minute submission blockers — App Store Connect simply refuses the file, usually the night you planned to submit. (First submission? Our first app submission guide walks the whole checklist.)
The Fast Way to Produce Both #
The annoying part of Watch and Vision Pro screenshots isn't understanding the sizes — it's that they're different enough from your iPhone set that reusing your layout work isn't straightforward: new aspect ratios, new frames, new text scales.
That's the case Screenshot Studio is built for: one project covers iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro, with device-appropriate templates for each — so your Watch set inherits your brand style at Watch-appropriate proportions instead of being a squeezed-down phone layout. Every size exports automatically (the full matrix), captions can be localized in-app, and the finished set uploads straight to App Store Connect with every file in the right slot.
Quick Reference #
- Apple Watch: portrait only, up to 10 per locale; largest supported size scales down. Ultra 2: 410 × 502 · Series 10 46mm: 416 × 496 · 45mm: 396 × 484 · 41mm: 352 × 430 · SE 44mm: 368 × 448 · SE 40mm: 324 × 394.
- Vision Pro: 3840 × 2160, landscape only, up to 10 per locale.
- No app preview videos on watchOS; visionOS uses 3840 × 2160 for previews too.
