If you open App Store Connect and can't find the 6.9-inch screenshot slot, it's still there. It has a new name. Apple stopped labeling iPhone screenshot slots by screen size and now groups them by device feature: Dynamic Island, Face ID or Home Button. The pixel sizes did not change, but the slot you have to fill did. This page maps every old label to its new name, checked against Apple's screenshot specifications as of October 7, 2026.

The Short Answer #
- Required now: one set for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display), the old 6.3-inch slot. That is 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 pixels, the size of an iPhone 17, 17 Pro or 18 Pro.
- Required from April 2027: an iPhone Duo set as well, for every app submitted.
- Before this change: the required set was 6.9-inch (1320 × 2868), or 6.5-inch (1284 × 2778) if you skipped 6.9-inch.

Landscape is the same numbers with width and height swapped. Each slot still takes 1 to 10 images in PNG or JPEG, with no transparency.
Which iPhone Is in Which Slot #
The new names make more sense once you see the phones in each group:
| New name | iPhones |
|---|---|
| Dynamic Island (medium display) | iPhone 18 Pro, 17 Pro, 17, 16 Pro, 16, 15 Pro, 15, 14 Pro |
| Dynamic Island (large display) | iPhone Air, 18 Pro Max, 17 Pro Max, 16 Pro Max, 16 Plus, 15 Pro Max, 15 Plus, 14 Pro Max |
| Face ID (large display) | iPhone 14 Plus, 13 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max, 11 Pro Max, 11, XS Max, XR |
| Face ID (medium display) | iPhone 17e, 16e, 14, 13 Pro, 13, 13 mini, 12 Pro, 12, 12 mini, 11 Pro, XS, X |
| Home Button (large display) | iPhone 8 Plus, 7 Plus, 6S Plus, 6 Plus |
| Home Button (medium display) | iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation), 8, 7, 6S, 6 |
The groups are the same as before. Only the labels changed.
iPad slots are not affected. They still use inches, and the 13-inch set is still the one you have to provide for an iPad app. Mac, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch are also unchanged.
The Required Slot Moved #
This is the part that matters more than the names. Until now, the required iPhone set was 6.9-inch. Apple's spec now says the one set you must provide is for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display), the old 6.3-inch slot. So the size to build is now 1206 × 2622, not 1320 × 2868.
The order App Store Connect fills empty slots in has changed too. The Face ID (medium) slot, the old 6.1-inch, now scales from the Dynamic Island (medium) set instead of from 6.5-inch. You don't have to manage this yourself. Leave a slot empty and App Store Connect fills it from the closest set you uploaded.
One thing to watch: Apple's page still has an older line under Face ID (large display) that says it is required when there is no Dynamic Island (large display) set. The top of the page and the medium display entry both say the medium slot is the required one, so build for that.
iPhone Duo: Required From April 2027 #
The iPhone Duo has its own slot, with sizes that don't match any other iPhone:
- Outer display: 1398 × 2034 pixels
- Inner display: 2007 × 2853 pixels
On October 5, 2026, Apple announced that starting April 2027, every app or game submitted needs iPhone Duo screenshots. That includes apps that were not changed for the Duo. Apple only says "April 2027" and does not give a day, so plan to have the set ready before April starts. The iPhone Duo screenshot sizes page has the details.
What to Do With Your Existing Screenshots #
If you already have a 6.9-inch set (1320 × 2868): it is still accepted. It now sits in the Dynamic Island (large display) slot. The required slot is the medium one, so add a 1206 × 2622 set the next time you submit.
If you are making a new set: build it at 1206 × 2622. Capture from the iPhone 17, 17 Pro or 18 Pro simulator and the size is already right. An iPhone 16 or 15 Pro capture is 1179 × 2556, which is also accepted in this slot.
If you upload raw captures: a Pro Max capture no longer covers the required slot. Before you upload, the free screenshot validator shows which slot a file fits.
Before April 2027: add an iPhone Duo set.

Conclusion #
The new names describe the phone instead of its screen, and the required set moved from 6.9-inch to the medium Dynamic Island slot at 1206 × 2622. Build that set now and an iPhone Duo set before April 2027. App Store Connect scales them for every other slot.
