Hotpot is best known for AI image tools, and it also has a template editor for App Store and Google Play screenshots. Pick a template, drop in your screenshots, change the frame color and the text, and download. There is nothing to install and no subscription, which makes it a quick option for a one-off set.
If you are looking for a Hotpot alternative, the usual reason is that its screenshot templates have not kept up with Apple. This post compares it with Screenshot Studio, a native Mac and iOS app.
What Hotpot Does Well #
- Quick and cheap. Its generator page says designs are free or $1 per graphic, and its pricing page sells one-time credit packs with no recurring payment.
- Nothing to install. It runs in any browser.
- Some extra formats. Presets for the Google Play feature graphic, an Android TV banner and Mac sizes.
- Panorama templates. A layout that runs one image across several screenshots.
Where Screenshot Studio Is Different #
Current required sizes #
App Store Connect's required iPhone set is now 6.9-inch, at 1320×2868, 1290×2796 or 1260×2736, and the iPad set is 13-inch, at 2064×2752 or 2048×2732. When we checked Hotpot's editor, its largest iPhone preset was 1284×2778 (the 6.5-inch fallback), there was no 13-inch iPad preset at 2064×2752, and its device frames were for models such as the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Screenshot Studio produces every accepted size for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro, plus Android, from one design, with current frames (see the current size requirements).
Languages and upload #
We found no translation and no store upload in Hotpot's screenshot editor, so every language is a separate design and every file is uploaded by hand. Screenshot Studio translates captions with built-in AI inside the same project and uploads to App Store Connect in the right slots and order.
Your unreleased screens #
Hotpot's terms grant it a license to showcase non-AI content made with its services as templates. Read them if your screenshots show an app that isn't public yet. Screenshot Studio projects are documents on your Mac, and your screenshots stay there until you upload them to App Store Connect.

Which Should You Pick? #
Choose Hotpot if you need one quick set for a single iPhone app and you are fine adding the current sizes and frames yourself.
Choose Screenshot Studio if you need today's required sizes without custom canvases, more than one language, Apple platforms beyond iPhone, or the upload handled for you.
